Timken Co. has acquired the assets of a century-old industrial bearing maker in Hickory, North Carolina, for undisclosed terms. American Roller Bearing Co. (ARB) makes heavy-duty industrial bearings, such as ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings, the North Carolina company says at its website. North Canton, Ohio-based Timken said it plans to add ARB's assets to its portfolio of engineered bearing products. A large number of U.S. companies use American Roller Bearing products, contributing to its strong aftermarket business, Timken said on Wednesday.
